FORKS TOWNSHIP, Pa. -
Lafayette remained competitive through the first six innings, allowing Lehigh to chip its way
to a six run lead through six innings. Unfortunately, four Lafayette errors helped the
Mountain Hawks to a 16 run seventh inning to put away Layette 22-6 in the top half of the
doubleheader.
The Leopards didn't quit, however, and they came back in the bottom of the last inning with
six runs on five hits, including an RBI double by reserve outfielder Leigh Minarick.
Shortstop Mara Shainheit (Mt. Holly, N.J./Ravicocas Valley) led the Leopards, going 2-for-3
with an RBI.
