STONY BROOK, N.Y. (www.lafayette.edu) - Stony Brook's Shane Arikian scored the only goal of the game at 62:55 as Stony Brook dealt Lafayette its sixth loss off the season, 1-0, in men's soccer action on Wednesday.
The goal came nearly 13 minutes into the second half, as Arikian used passes from Kenyatta Montgomery and Hector Dillon for the score. Stony Brook improves to 5-0 on the season, having already beaten Boston College, St. Peter's, Sacred Heart, and most recently Howard.
Lafayette had seven different players fire off shots on the day (two on goal), but the Leopards were outshot 21-8 by the Seawolves.
Senior goalkeeper Craig Schroeder (Cranbury, N.J./Princeton) recorded eight saves on the day, while allowing just one goal. Dan Ferrin was in goal for Stony Brook, and managed two saves.
Lafayette (0-6) will try to get on track on Saturday, when Philadelphia University comes to Metzgar Fields for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
