Women's Soccer Rolls Over St. Peter's

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (www.lafayette.edu) - Seven different players--four on goals and three on assists-- got into the scoring act, as Lafayette ran past St. Peter's 4-0 in non-conference women's soccer action on Wednesday.

Lafayette (9-4) scored three of its goals in the first half. Junior Briana Rinchiuso (Norwell, Mass./Norwell) scored in the 11th minute on an assist by Kerrie Kiley (Greenlawn, N.Y./St. Anthony's). Katie Schrack (Mill Hall, Pa./Lock Haven) followed with a goal at 21:32 on an assist by junior Emily Myers (Hershey, Pa./Hershey).

Less than seven minutes later (28:03), sophomore Kati Kochersperger (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) netted her second goal of the season, this time off an assist from junior Sarah Harting (W. Bloomfield, Mich./American Interational).

Sophomore Miriam Habeeb 's (Westfield, N.J./Kent Place School) second goal of the season came 1:06 into the second half, an unassisted score that put the final at 4-0.

Lafayette used 27 different players in the game, including three goalkeepers who combined to face just four shots in a shutout. Freshman Amy Kalista (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen) played the first half and made one save. Junior Ashley Wesmiller (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) played the next 27 minutes and made two saves, followed by Caitlin McGee (Lindenwold, N.J./Overbrook) who played the last 18 mninutes without a save. St. Peter's goalkeeper Sarah Cronin made 10 saves, as Lafayette outshot St. Peter's 29-4.

Lafayette returns to Patriot League action on Saturday when the Leopards travel to Lehigh for a 7 p.m. kick off.
