St Peter's
Head Coach Bob Leckie: I want to give credit to Lafayette. They maintained their composure. We had them on the ropes and they bounced back. That's a credit to their coaching staff.
We were in the wrong spots right down to the final play. I hope that doesn't happen come March. We have periods where we go on droughts and I think that has to do with poor shot selection.
Lafayette
Head Coach Fran O'Hanlon: Defensively, I thought our intensity was much better in the second half.
I look at each game on its own. I knew this game would be difficult. They needed a win and we needed a win.
I thought all our players brought defensive intensity. Our seniors did a good job controlling the box and Kamaal McQueen. Everyone stepped up and played with intensity.
We just tried to pressure them a little more and Reggie brings that.
McQueen really anchors that offense. There aren't many who can push him off the block, but I think we did a good job at that.
Senior Guard Reggie Guy: I was just trying to pick up on the areas where we needed help. When I got my chance I wanted to come in and do the right thing to help the team."
Games come down to possessions and we managed to take control of the ball better in the second half and we came out with the 'W'.
One of our points of emphasis is transition defense. I felt that if I could go in there and slow them down, we could make something happen.
Sophomore Guard Justin DeBerry: Mike hit me with a good screen and Brian found me for the three. You have got to stay aggressive with that, you have to hit the three's to win.
Senior Guard Brian Burke: I think the way I have been shooting now I feel more comfortable down low than from around the perimeter.
