Meet Results
EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Rhonda Snyder (Plainville, Conn./Plainville) won all three thowing events to lead the women's track team to victories over St. Joseph's, Monmouth, Rider and Fairleigh Dickinson in a five-way meet on Saturday at Fisher Field.
Snyder claimed the hammer throw with a hurl of 176'4", beating her nearest competition by 37 feet. Snyder also secured first place finishes in the discus (124'5") and the shot put (41'8"). Sophomore Jackie Bingham (Lunenburg, Mass./Lunenburg) also made strong showings in the hammer throw (139' 6 1/2") and the shotput (35' 2 1/2"), finishing third in each event.
Lafayette took two out of the top three spots in the 3,000 meter steeple chase as Erin Wyble (Wharton, N.J./Morris Hills) took first place with a time of 12:15.45 and Jenna Cece (Williamstown, Mass./Mt. Greylock) finished third in 13:09.43.
Lafayette dominated the pole vault, taking first, second and sixth places. Ambyr Craw (North Caldwell, N.J./West Essex) won the event with a mark of 10'6" followed by Olivia Tusinski (Bernardston, Mass./Pioneer Valley) in second at 10' and Angela Coxe (Easton, Pa./Easton) in sixth at 8'6".
Lauren McHale (Seaville, N.J./Ocean City) notched two second place finishes on the day in the 800 (2:16.99) and the 1500 (4:44.32).
Other standout performers for the Leopards were Colleen Becker (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy), who finished second in the triple jump (33' 7 1/2"), and Beth Loretz (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) who took home third in the high jump (5'2 1/2").
Lafayette (149.5) finished first out of five teams, beating out St. Joseph's (139), Monmouth (137), Rider (121.5), Fairleigh Dickinson (18).
The Leopards return to action on Friday in a home dual meet with Lehigh.
