PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Two Lafayette women's relay teams got off to a good start at the Penn Relays on Thursday.

The 1,600 meter relay team of Katie O'Connor, Sadie Weatherbee, Natalie Bosserman, and Elizabeth Hallowell turned in a time of 3:55.89 to win its section. The Leopards topped teams from Rhode Island, William and Mary, Fordham, Vermont, Shaw, New York, Marshall, Shippensburg, Dennison and Binghamton.

The 4x100 relay team finished third in its heat, clocking a time of 49.89.

The Penn Relays will continue through the weekend.
