PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Andy Toole matched his season high with 21 points and Jeff Schiffner added 18 as Penn defeated Lafayette 73-66 Monday night at The Palestra.
Koko Archibong added 12 points for Penn (12-4) while Justin DeBerry had 16 points and Brian Burke added 13 for the Leopards (8-9).
Penn trailed 31-30 at the half but, with five different players scoring, the Quakers went on a 19-5 run to take a 49-36 lead with 14:36 to play.
Lafayette closed to 54-50 on a jumper by Burke at the 10:04 mark, but Schiffner's 3-pointer capped a 10-2 Penn spurt and the Leopards never threatened again.
The Quakers led 16-9 midway through the first half but Lafayette, led by DeBerry's 3-point shooting, went on a 16-5 run to take its biggest lead of the game, 25-21.
The victory gave Penn a 33-3 edge in the all-time series.
Lafayette concludes a four-game road swing on Wednesday at Navy before returning to Kirby Sports Center on Saturday to host Colgate at 3:15 p.m.
