EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette junior quarterback Marko Glavic (Pickering, Ont./St. Mary Catholic) was named Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week after he threw for a career-high four touchdowns to four different receivers in the Leopards' 35-17 win over Georgetown. The award is Glavic's first of the season and second of his career, after earning weekly honors once during the 2001 season.
The 2000 Patriot League Rookie of the Year finished the afternoon 22-of-34 for 275 yards with no interceptions and no sacks for the Leopards (4-3, 2-0). This was the second straight game and third time this season that Glavic did not throw a pick, and the third game that he was not sacked. He was also the Leopards' second-leading rusher on the day, tallying 15 yards on 10 carries and scrambling for six first downs.
Glavic is now 128-of-246 for 1,684 yards with 11 touchdowns this season and leads a Leopard passing attack that is ranked second in the Patriot League. He is also second in the league in passing average (240.6 yards) and total offense (251.9 yards).
The Patriot League leader in passing yards each of the last two seasons, Glavic now has five 200-yard passing games this season and 21 in his 25 career starts. His 6,108 career yards ranks fourth all-time at Lafayette and 10th all-time in the Patriot League.
This is the second straight week that a Lafayette player has received the league's Offensive Player of the Week award, with sophomore tailback Joe McCourt taking home the honors last week.
Lafayette travels to Fordham (5-1, 2-0) for a 1 p.m. game on Saturday. The Leopards and Rams are the only two teams still undefeated in Patriot League play.
