Lafayette vs. Drexel

Dec. 3, 2002

Recap?|? Final Stats

Drexel Head Coach James "Bruiser" Flint: "Overall, our guys did a good job staying on top of their shooters. We made them take some tough shots and we were able to get out on the break."

"Last year they bombed three's on us. We just made sure that we pressured them. Ball pressure was one of our keys to the game. Also, last year they back cut us and curled us to the basket. This time we went under the screens and kept their players in front."

"We executed well. In the second half we did a good job getting out on the break and getting easy baskets. They are big in the post, and we knew we couldn't post too much. In the second half we were able to get some easy baskets in transitions."

Danny Hinds, Forward: "I just came in ready and I looked for my open shots. I had a big guy on me, and I was able to get him coming off screens. My teammates set some good screens the entire night."

Phil Goss, Guard: "I am just glad I shot the ball well tonight because I have been struggling. Hopefully it carries over to the next game."

Lafayette Head Coach Fran O'Hanlon: "Drexel was very determined to stop us, and they had a lot of energy tonight. They played with intensity, and we had a difficult time getting shots."

"They have some good basketball players, and they are deep. They have some real quality wins, against Monmouth and Penn, and their first five played excellent defense. We knew we were in for a difficult game. We matched their intensity in the second half, but it was too late. We dug ourselves a big hole. We haven't been shooting well from the perimeter and it is a matter of stepping up and knocking those shots down."

"We still have to get more familiar with one another on the court. We are still a work in progress and we have played a difficult schedule."

Mike Farrell, Forward: "We just have to keep working at it in practice. It is up to us to get better. It all starts in practice. The more we work, the better we will become at it."
