KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Misha Bednostin and Joshua Wyche '26 of Lafayette men's basketball were named to the 2025-26 National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, the NABC announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The full Leopard squad was recognized with a NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for a program grade-point average (GPA) above a 3.0.

Bednostin, a rising senior, contributed playing time in 28 contests, averaging 10 minutes last winter. His career-high nine points came against Rosemont on Nov. 24, 2024. Standing 6'11 at center, Bednostin blocked 15 shots, scored 134 points and grabbed 151 rebounds on College Hill.

Wyche '26 spent three seasons with the Maroon and White while pursuing an Economics degree. He competed in 51 games and made five starts while totaling 111 career points. After graduating early, he is pursuing an MBA with a focus on Business Analytics at VCU.

"College basketball student-athletes do incredible things on the court, but their achievements in the classroom are equally worthy of celebration," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "Education is one of the NABC's core values, and the hundreds of programs and thousands of athletes represented on these awards reinforce the commitment to academic success that exists across all levels of our sport."

Over 2,300 players and 400 programs were highlighted this academic year.

In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. The qualifications are as follows: academically a junior or senior and a varsity player, a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher, matriculated at least one year at their current institution and a member of a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
