EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Patriot League recently named seven student athletes from Lafayette's women's indoor track & field team to the All-League squad after strong performances at the league championship meet. Seniors Ambyr Craw, Lauren McHale and Erin Wyble join sophomores Julie Harms, Teva Miller, Anna Sherman and Olivia Tusinski on the all-league team.
Craw finished a successful four-year indoor career with the award after a second-place finish in the pole vault at the Patriot League Championships on Feb. 15-17. Craw also broke the school record in the pole vault earlier this season and qualified for the ECAC Championship meet this weekend.
McHale capped a strong year with the All-League nod after three top-three finishes at the league championship meet with a first place in the distance medley relay and second place finishes in the 1,000-meter and 4x800-meter relay events. McHale broke the school record in the 1,000-meter run, which she had previously set, and qualified for the ECAC meet in the 1,000-meter, 4x800-meter relay and the distance medley relay.
Wyble, a senior from Wharton, N.J., earned her first all-league honor following a first-place finish in the distance medley relay event and a second place finish as part of the 4x800-meter relay team. Both relay teams qualified for the ECAC meet.
Harms, a sophomore from Marlton, N.J., was honored with her first all-league award after a first-place finish as part of the distance medley relay team at the league championships. The relay team also qualified for the ECAC meet.
A sophomore from Coshocton, Ohio, Miller was part of the 4x800-meter relay team which took second at the league championships. Miller earned her first all-league nod with the award.
Sherman earned her first all-league spot after running the anchor in the distance medley relay and the lead-off spot in the 4x800-meter relay that took first and second places at the league championships. Sherman will compete in the ECAC meet with the distance medley relay team.
Tusinski is one of two Lafayette pole-vaulters on the all-league team. Tusinski finished second in the pole vault at the league championship meet.
Lafayette travels to Boston, Mass. this weekend to compete in the ECAC Championship meet.
