OSCEOLA, Fla. (www.lafayette.edu) - The Lafayette softball team lost a 10-2 game to Fordham on Wednesday in the Rebel Games.
Fordham opened the game with two runs in the top of the first as Lisa Busciacco smacked a two-run double. The Leopards answered back with two of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Tara Martinho hit a two-run double to plate Laura Schrager who had walked and Mara Shainheit who had doubled.
The Rams scored three runs in their half of the second and five in the fifth to secure the victory. Carol Fischer picked up the win for Fordham, allowing four hits and two runs over four innings.
Martinho led the Leopards at the plate, finishing 2-for-2 with two RBI. Gianna Lopreato, Danielle Bernotsky and Becky Foley each registered a hit for the Leopards.
