Lafayette Women's Soccer Falls to Penn in Overtime

PHILADELPHIA, Pa (www.lafayette.edu) - Despite 13 saves by Lafayette junior goalkeeper Amy Kalista (Metuchen, N.J./Metuchen), the Leopards dropped a 2-1 decision to Penn in double overtime on Saturday.

Lafayette took the early lead at 37:16 on an unassisted goal by Ellie Burke (North Yarmouth, Maine/Greely), but Penn's Lydia Bojcun evened the score at one just 77 seconds later.

The score remained knotted at one until Penn's Carolyn Cross netted the game-winner at 113:31.

Saturday's match was the third straight for the Leopards that stretched into the second overtime session. Lafayette is now 0-1-2 in overtime matches.

Lafayette, now 0-2-2 on the season, returns to action on Wednesday, hosting Mount St. Mary's at 5 p.m. at Metzgar Fields.
