EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette will play four games at Fisher Field in 2004, just the second time since the schedule expanded to 10 games in 1968 that the Leopards have played only four home games.

The Leopards open at home with Marist on Sept. 4, then play just once more at home over the next nine weeks. Back-to-back home contests with Holy Cross and Lehigh round out the schedule.

"We're approaching this as an 11-goal season, with Marist being the first goal on Sept. 4," said fifth-year head coach Frank Tavani. "This is a challenging, highly-competitive schedule with an Atlantic-10 scholarship school in Richmond and the Ivy League opponents, as well as our traditional Patriot League matchups. We're going to be prepared to play wherever we go."

Marist serves as the season-opener for the second straight season. The Red Foxes finished 4-6 in 2003, including 2-2 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Leopards then open a three-game road swing with the Patriot League opener at Georgetown on Sept. 11. A 7 p.m. kickoff at Princeton and the first matchup with Richmond since 1922 cap the season's first extended road trip.

Harvard visits Fisher Field for Homecoming on Oct. 2. The Crimson finished 7-3 in 2003, its third consecutive season of at least seven wins.

The Leopards then embark on a five-week, four-game road venture that includes three trips to the state of New York. A road contest at Columbia closes out the non-league portion of the schedule on Oct. 9, while Lafayette visits in-state foe Bucknell for a Patriot League contest on Oct. 16. Trips to Fordham and 2003 national runner-up Colgate sandwich an Oct. 30 bye week.

Lafayette returns home to entertain Holy Cross on Nov. 13, while Lehigh comes to College Hill for the 140th meeting of the Lafayette-Lehigh rivalry.

Lafayette concludes spring practice with the annual Maroon-White spring game on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Fisher Field.
