PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) -Members of the Lafayette women's track and field team traveled to the University of Pennsylvania to compete in the 2004 Penn Relays on Thursday, April 22.
The 4x400m relay team, consisting of Elizabeth Rybas, Kathleen Evangelista, Natalie Bosserman and Elizabeth Hallowell finished first in their heat while breaking the Lafayette school record in the event in a time of 3:51.72.
Bosserman and Hallowell were also members of the previous record holding team, running a time of 3:52.12 in 2002.
In their heat, the Leopards defeated Kutztown, Temple, Lincoln, Hartwick, Navy, Ithaca and Wagner.
Daria Szwarko also competed for the Leopards, finishing 23rd overall in the pole vault with a height of 10'10".
Deborah Fink was the final Leopard participant of the day, finishing first in her heat of the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:03.30. Fink placed 32nd overall.
Members of the Lafayette men's track and field team will be participating in events at the Penn Relays on Friday, April 23.
The women's track and field team will be back in action on May 1 at the Patriot League Championships held at the U.S. Military Academy.
