The Lafayette Sports Network's production of Saturday's Lafayette football game with Harvard, scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. kick-off, will be broadcast on CN8 in both the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions on a tape-delayed basis, it has been announced.
CN8 will air the Atlantic 10 match-up between Massachusetts and defending national champion James Madison live at 12 p.m. Lafayette's Homecoming game with the Crimson will be broadcast by CN8 at the conclusion of that contest (approximately 3:15 p.m.). CN8 serves 7.1 million cable homes on the East Coast.
The Lafayette Sports Network is broadcasting every regular season Lafayette football game for the third straight year and handles all production aspects of the telecasts. Telecasts can be seen by more than 9.8 million viewers in the Lehigh Valley, all of Philadelphia, and the Pocono region. RCN reaches more than 1.4 million viewers in the Washington, D.C. market.
Broadcast & Cable Magazine recently named the Lafayette Sports Network one of the best university-run sports networks in the country, and LSN annually produces the most expansive and highest quality television package in the Patriot League.
Emmy-nominated local sports broadcaster Gary Laubach has provided the play-by-play for all nine years that the Lafayette Sports Network has been in existence. John Leone, Lafayette's Associate Director of Major Gifts, has offered color analysis for all but the first year on the air.
Each of Lafayette's final eight contests, with the exception of the 141st meeting between Lafayette and Lehigh on Nov. 19, will also be broadcast on Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh (DIRECTV Channel 628, DISH Network Channel 128) on Mondays at noon. The Nov. 12 match-up at Holy Cross will be aired live at 12:30 p.m.
The Lafayette-Lehigh game will be broadcast to a national audience on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 9 a.m. on CSTV (DIRECTV Channel 610, DISH Network Channel 152).
