EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Meggie Curran added to her Patriot League-leading assist total, helping on both of Navy's goals, as the Mids scored once in each half to defeat Lafayette, 2-1, in women's soccer on Sunday afternoon.
Curran notched her 11th assist of the season 2:58 into the match, setting up Sarah Hessinger for a shot from just inside the 18-yard box that struck the right post and found the net.
Megan Hillin leveled the score in the 33rd minute for Lafayette. Jacquelyn Marchese played a corner kick into the box, where Hillin collected the ball and knocked it through traffic for her first career goal.
Navy (10-6-2, 2-4) converted on a corner for the final goal of the match in the 67th minute, as Curran provided service for Julie Reynolds who broke into the box and scored on a header.
Curran entered the week ranked third in the Patriot League in points, and has nine goals and 12 assists this season.
Haley Crain made four first-half saves for Navy to earn her eighth win of the season. The Leopards did not record a shot in the second half.
Mary Kate Erdman started in goal for Lafayette (1-10-4, 0-5-1) and made five saves, while Sarah Amtower played the second half and had four saves. The Mids got off 18 shots in the match.
The Leopards will play their final home match of the year on Tuesday as they host Penn at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium.
