EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - The pairings have been determined for the 2005 Patriot League Men's & Women's Basketball Tournament to be held March 3-6 at campus sites.
The Lafayette's women's team will open the tournament by taking on top-seeded Holy Cross on Thursday, March 3 at 8 p.m. at Holy Cross' Hart Center in a game that will be televised live nationally on CSTV (DIRECTV channel 610). The No. 8 seed Leopards lost both regular season contests to the Crusaders, falling 70-48 in Worcester, Mass. and 68-62 in Easton.
Lafayette's men's squad enters the tournament as the No. 7 seed and will face No. 2 seed Bucknell at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 4 at Sojka Pavilion, the home court of the Bison. Lafayette, which finished the regular season by winning three of its last four games, lost both regular season contests to Bucknell. The Bison won 71-54 in Lewisburg and 89-69 in Easton.
