Sept. 26, 2005

Box Score

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Fordham scored once in each half, and Allie Cacciotti made five saves for the shutout as the Rams defeated Lafayette, 2-0, in non-league women's soccer action on a cool, rainy Monday night at the Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex.

The Leopards controlled the play for much of the first half, but Leah Jerome put Fordham ahead 1-0 with an unassisted goal that came with 1:24 to go before the break.

Jerome assisted on the first goal of the season for Alexis Ribadeneyra in the 83rd minute to provide some insurance for the Rams.

Fordham held a 17-11 edge in shots, with Mary Kate Erdman making six saves in goal for the Leopards (1-5-3).

The Rams improve to 6-3 as they head into Atlantic 10 play this weekend.

Lafayette will open its Patriot League schedule on Saturday, Oct. 1 with a 7 p.m. start at Lehigh.
