Miller Resigns as Lafayette Women's Soccer Coach

Jan. 23, 2006

EASTON, Pa. (www.lafayette.edu) - Lafayette women's soccer head coach Wayne Miller has resigned from his post that he held for the past eight seasons, Director of Athletics Bruce McCutcheon announced on Monday, Jan. 23. A national search for his replacement has already begun.

Miller completed his eighth season as the head coach in the Fall of 2005 following a 2-11-4 season when Lafayette went 0-6-1 in Patriot League play.

In 2000 and 2001 under Miller, Lafayette put together two back-to-back 11-8 seasons, the most ever wins for a Lafayette women's soccer team in a program that began in 1990. In 2001, Lafayette made the program's third appearance in the Patriot League Tournament following a 4-3 mark in conference play, the most league wins in a season.

He leaves Lafayette with a 49-81-10 overall mark and a 10-41-2 record in Patriot League action.

Prior to coming to Lafayette, Miller was an assistant men's coach at East Stroudsburg for four seasons and an assistant women's coach for one season. Miller also served as the first head coach of Moravian College's then-newly-established women's soccer program in 1994.

The 2006 Lafayette women's soccer team returns all but one player from its 2005 roster.
