EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette women's soccer team dropped a 5-0 decision to American on Sunday afternoon at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium. The Leopards will now take the upcoming week of practice to prepare for the annual showdown with archrival Lehigh next Saturday.

Senior goalkeeper Mary Kate Erdman recorded five saves on the afternoon, while three American goalkeepers teamed up for the shutout.
Head coach Mick Statham was impressed with a quality American squad and now has to look to get ready for Lehigh.
"I think to put it quite simply, we were beaten by a better team today," Statham said. "They were quicker to the ball, more creative and just overall out-classed us a little bit today."
Lafayette takes the next week to prepare to travel to Bethlehem, Pa. to take on archrival Lehigh. Gametime is set for 7 p.m. on the Goodman campus at Lehigh.
