EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette football team held its first two-a-day of the summer, including a 7:45 night session in preparation for the season-opening night game against Marist on Sept. 1.

Senior captain Kyle Sprenkle noticed a definite difference surrounding the night practice.

"It was definitely different, getting us psyched up for our opener against Marist which will be at night," Sprenkle said. "I definitely felt a better energy out here tonight."

Not only was it the team's first two-a-day, but it was also move-in day, as the players moved into permanent housing. Despite the busy day, Sprenkle felt the team had plenty of energy.

"I think we handled it well," he said. "The intensity was definitely here for the second practice and I think we responded well."

Head coach Frank Tavani was also pleased with the effort from his squad.

"Today's schedule was really kind of nice," Tavani said. "We had practice at 8:30 this morning then had a nice break. It gave the players extra rest time and it gave us extra meeting time before the night practice."

Like Sprenkle, Tavani also noticed a different in the players' energy level under the lights at Fisher Stadium.

"It's a whole different atmosphere," he said. "The players love being out there at night. They would have stayed out there another two hours."

The Leopards will hold one practice session on Monday afternoon, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. All practices are open to the public.
