PRINCETON, N.J. - Junior Osasumwen Izevbigie threw a season-best mark of 45' 10 ¾" in the women's shot put to finish eighth at the ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Princeton University on Sunday. She became the second Leopard to earn All-East honors this weekend.

Izevbigie, who will graduate in December 2008 with a degree in Government & Law, leaves College Hill as the school recordholder in the shot put (48' 1 ¾") for the indoor and outdoor seasons. She also has the third-farthest throw in Lafayette history in the weight throw and a top-10 mark in the hammer.

Sunday closed a successful weekend for Lafayette's women's track and field team. Two members earned All-East honors with top-eight finishes. Senior Ashley Harbin received All-East distinction when she set school and meet records in the hammer throw on Saturday with a distance of 209' to hit the provisional `B' standard for the Olympic trials.

Four members of the women's team turn their attention towards preparing for the NCAA East Region Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Tallahasse, Fla. on May 30-31. Freshmen Janica Austin and Asia Hollis and seniors Kristen Kalinowski and Harbin have qualified to compete at the meet.
