FAIRFAX, Va. – The Leopards had a strong weekend of performances at the ECAC/IC4A Championships hosted by George Mason on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with three Lafayette school records, seven other all-time top 10 performances and 13 total All-East performers.
Running for the women, sophomore Ida Moczerniuk broke the school record in the 200 meters, originally set by Devin Smith in 2016, with a final time of 24.42. Moczerniuk not only set a record, but she also took home fourth place.
The team of junior Maeve Waldron, sophomore Gabby Buber, freshman Lily Jenkins and Moczerniuk surpassed the school record in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 46.97, claiming second place overall.
Juniors Elena Malone and Alexa LaSasso and seniors Chelsey Cochrane and Nava Chevan worked together to reach a new record in the 4x800-meter relay. The women ran for a final time of 9:03.53, finishing third.
Junior Elizabeth Borah secured second in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:18.56 and earned No. 6 all-time at Lafayette. Sophomore Ava Severino enjoyed a fourth-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase, collecting No. 5 all-time. Cochrane managed 15th in the 1500 meters and achieved No. 10 all-time (4:41.40).
Sophomore Abbey Nichols took home No. 7 all-time in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing 10th. LaSasso ran 2:12.94 in the 800 meters for fifth.
On the men's side, sophomores Harrison Rosen, Alexander Caba and Christian Wright and junior Roman Conca secured No. 2 all-time in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 40.99, snagging second overall.
The team of juniors Quinn Worrell and Titan Casey, freshman Alec Miner and senior A.J. Sanford finished fourth in the 4x800-meter relay. The men garnered No. 4 all-time with their time of 7:36.87.
In the 4x400-meter relay, Conca, Wright, Rosen and junior J.P. Pfisterer enjoyed a fifth-place finish (3:17.70).
In the field for the women, senior Erin O'Leary threw 164' 7" in the hammer throw for sixth.
For the men, junior Robert McClosky took home sixth in the javelin with a 196' 3" final throw. Sophomore Niko Williams finished eighth in the discus throw (150' 1.25").
Junior Benjamin Hill reeled in seventh in the pole vault with a 15' 6.5" effort.
The Leopard women finished 10th out of 28 teams and the men ended in 10th of 27.
