ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The men's and women's track and field teams sit at fifth and seventh at the end of day one of the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Navy. The Leopards earned two school records, two medals and added eight new performances to the Lafayette All-Time Top 10.
The team of seniors Quinn Worrell and Titan Casey and freshmen Tegan Kovacs and Hunter Parsons broke the Lafayette school record in the men's 4x800-meter relay with a final time of 7:33.09. The men claimed fourth and scored for the Leopards.
Junior John Liedtka tied the school record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.42, achieving fifth and qualifying himself for the finals on day two.
Senior Benjamin Hill took home bronze in the pole vault, vaulting 16' 3.5" for third and scoring for the team.
Senior Bobby McClosky snagged a bronze medal in the javelin with his 214' 4" throw, also earning points for the Maroon and White.
Running for the men, sophomore Kaseme Leckie collected No. 3 all-time in the 100 meters, crossing the finish line at 10.47 and qualifying for finals. Leckie also secured No. 7 all-time in the 200 meters with a time of 21.43 for ninth. Junior Harrison Rosen is tied for No. 7 all-time in the 100 meters after his 10.69 finish. Rosen ended in 12th.
Senior Zachary Barban finished ninth and qualified for finals in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.61. Junior Dexter DeMarco reeled in seventh in the 400 hurdles, earning a spot in finals with his time of 54.40. Freshman Hunter Parsons reached No. 6 all-time in the 800 meters, ending in 1:51.71 for 11th. Junior Justin Brown is No. 6 all-time in the 10,000 meters after his 31:03.67 finished 10th.
In the throws, sophomore Javin Petry scored for the Leopards in the hammer throw with a 180' 4" throw and sixth place. Junior Niko Williams threw 198' 11" in the javelin for eighth, adding points to the board.
On the women's side, sophomore Anya Kazemi garnered No. 8 all-time in the 10,000 meters with a final time of 36:52.12. Kazemi took home 11th overall. Freshman Kendall Collier collected fifth in the 10,000 meters, crossing the finish line at 35:36.36 and putting points up for the Leopards.
The team of seniors Alexa LaSasso and Elena Malone and freshmen Faye Carnemolla and Katelynn Barthold scored for the Maroon and White with an eighth-place finish in 9:15.84.Â
In the field, freshman Kennedy Miller secured No. 7 all-time and scored in the hammer throw with her 170' 10" mark. Junior Maddie Still placed seventh in the javelin, throwing 131' 7" and collecting points for the women.Â
Junior Bridget O'Mara vaulted 11' 9" in the pole vault, reeling in No. 5 all-time and 10th.
The Maroon and White resume competition on day two of the Patriot League Championships on Saturday at 9 a.m.
