ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Leopards wrapped up the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Navy on Saturday, the men finishing fifth and the women ninth. The team collected a school record, a bronze medal and added three new marks to the Lafayette All-Time Top 10.
Junior John Liedtka eclipsed the school record, the same record he tied on day one of the championships, in the 110-meter hurdles with a final time of 14.13. Liedtka not only broke the record, but he also claimed the bronze medal.
The team of seniors J.P. Pfisterer and Titan Casey, freshman Hunter Parsons and junior Alexander Caba reached No. 3 all-time in the men's 4x400-meter relay with a time of 3:14.21. The men snagged fourth and put points on the board for the Leopards.Â
Liedtka, Caba, sophomore Kaseme Leckie and junior Harrison Rosen enjoyed a fourth-place finish and scored for the team in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 40.75.
Leckie reeled in sixth in the 100 meters, crossing the finish line at 10.61. Junior Dexter DeMarco and senior Zachary Barban earned sixth (54.80) and eighth (55.72) in the 400-meter hurdles, respectively. All three athletes scored for the Maroon and White.
Senior Liam Sawian achieved fifth in the decathlon with 6,270 points, putting points on the board. Junior thrower Niko Williams scored and earned seventh in the discus with a 150' 11" final throw.
Running for the women, freshman Maeve McNamee garnered No. 8 all-time in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:15.63 for 12th.
The team of junior Gabby Buber, sophomore Lilly Bradfield and seniors Maeve Waldron and Elena Malone managed eighth in the 4x400-meter relay with a final time of 3:53.14. The women secured team points.
Waldron, Buber, junior Madeline Convy and sophomore Lily Jenkins scored and reeled in eighth in the 4x100-meter relay. The Leopards had a time of 48.36.Â
Freshman Kendall Collier placed eighth in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:22.97, adding points for the Maroon and White.
Freshman Sophia Agner tied for eighth in the high jump, jumping 5' 1.75" and scoring for the Leopards.
Navy took the overall victory for the men while Army secured the win on the women's side.
