EASTON, Pa. – Two student-athletes from the outdoor track and field team have been selected to the Academic All-Patriot League teams on Tuesday afternoon.
For the women, sophomore Ida Moczerniuk majors in biology, maintaining a 4.00 GPA. The Fairfield, Conn. native secured Academic All-Patriot League status for indoor track and field and she made the Lafayette Academic Honor Roll each semester.
Moczerniuk earned herself a spot on the podium at the conference championships, taking home second place in the 100 meters. Not only did the sophomore snag silver, but she also broke the Lafayette school record in the 100 meters, her own record from previously this season, with a time of 11.79.
For the men's team, junior Titan Casey is a chemical engineering major with a 3.83 GPA. Casey was also an Academic All-Patriot League recipient for indoor track and field as well as a Patriot League Academic Honor Roll selection for cross country.
At the Patriot League Championships, the Hudson, Ohio native earned eighth in the 800 meters and contributed to the fifth-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay.
