Tours of Bourger Varsity Football House Available To the Public

Aug. 28, 2008

Easton, Pa. - Lafayette College is giving the public a chance to see the inside of the 24,000 square-foot Bourger Varsity Football House, home to the Lafayette football program.

Tours will be available from 12:30-2:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 and Sept. 27, when the Leopards host Georgetown and Penn, respectively, at 6 p.m.

The first floor of the building features a spacious lobby with displays honoring "Legends of Lafayette," the team's locker room, strength and conditioning areas, and sports medicine facilities, including a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy room. The upper level houses coaches' offices and several meeting rooms, one of which is large enough to accommodate the entire team. That area, which can be divided into four separate spaces for positional meetings, features audio-visual capabilities that match those in the "smart classrooms" in the Lafayette's academic buildings.

The varsity house at the west end of Fisher Stadium was made possible by a generous donation by John T. (Jack) Bourger '71 and Selena Vanderwerf. It opened on June 1, 2007 at a special dedication ceremony.

Anyone interested in taking a tour of the Bourger Varsity Football House building should contact Donna Holden at (610) 330-5485 or holdend@lafayette.edu
