Larris Ellis Results 
PRINCETON, N.J. - Seamas McGuire became Lafayette track and field's first student-athlete in 2009 to qualify for the NCAA East Regional Championships in addition to the IC4A Championships. McGuire won the javelin at the Greyhound Invitational at Princeton on Saturday with a throw of 205'06", blowing away the rest of the competition by at least five feet.
The Leopards split between the Greyhound Invitational and the Larry Ellis Invitational this weekend. McGuire was joined by several other impressive Leopard performances at the Greyhound Invitational.
Alana Taylor and Kelsey Slater both set personal bests in throws. Taylor improved by three feet in the javelin (129'08") and Slater improved by four feet to finish second in the discus (127'09").
Liz Graybill finished right behind Slater in the discus (122'01"), and Vicky Melroy delivered two respectable performances in the shot put (39'03", second place) and hammer throw (158'09" fourth place).
Tracey Kelly boasted the women's best finish in the track events, finishing second in the 5000 meter (19:06.84).
In jumps, Jessica Buzzell missed placing second in the long jump by half an inch (18'01") and Kerriann Borke placed fifth in the triple jump 36'02 ¼".
As for the men, Connor McGee finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 48'04 ¾" and set a personal best in the hammer (157'09").
Matthew Shaia tied for third in the high jump (6'0 ¾"). Kyle Clayton finished third in the 100 meter dash (11.00) and fifth in 200 meter dash (22.15)
Meanwhile at the Larry Ellis Invitational, Leopards continued the trend of improving their personal bests. Allison Hawkey set a personal best in the 800 meter run (2:16.36) and Sarah Welsh-Huggins also set a personal best in the 1500 meter run (4:48.02).
Ryan Stasiowski joined Welsh-Huggins with a personal best in the 1500 meter, posting a time of (3:55.88 ).
Kerry Taylor and Rob Blum both ran their second fastest times in their respective events. Blum ran the 800 meter in 1:53.90 and Taylor ran the 3000 meter steeple in 11:27.67.
Lafayette heads to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia on Thursday and Friday.
