Leopards Fall To Mountain Hawks at Lehigh Dual

Three individuals secure all-time performances

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lafayette took on Lehigh at Rauch Fieldhouse for the first Lehigh Dual of the season on Saturday afternoon. The Leopards fell to the Mountain Hawks, the men 92-89 and the women 120-61. 

In the field for the men, junior Ivan Tejada jumped to No. 3 all-time in the Lafayette Top 10 in the shot put with a throw of 53' 1.75" throw. Tejada claimed second in the shot put as well as in the weight throw (52' 8.25"). Senior Liam Downey placed third in the shot put, finishing with a 46' 10.25" effort.

Sophomore Kaseme Leckie snagged second in the high jump (6' 3.25") followed by senior Liam Sawian in third with a 6' 1.25" jump. Junior Andrew Harrison reeled in second in the triple jump (44' 9"). Senior Benjamin Hill claimed the victory in the pole vault with a 15' 1" vault.

Running for the Leopards, freshman Hunter Parsons secured No. 10 all-time in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.15, finishing second. Leckie took home the victory in the 60 meters with a time of 6.90 and third in the 200 meters (22.81). Junior Alexander Caba enjoyed two victories in the 200 (22.30) and 400 (49.88) meter races. 

Junior Harrison Rosen earned third in the 60 meters (7.04) and senior Roman Conca collected third in the 400 (51.05). Junior John Liedtka finished first in the 60-meter hurdles (8.35) while freshman Justice Larkin collected third (8.73). Senior J.P. Pfisterer captured first in the 500 meters with a time of 1:05.15.

Freshman Tegan Kovacs crossed the finish line third in the 1000 meters (2:33.89). Senior Quinn Worrell secured the victory in the mile with a final time of 4:30.28 and classmate Cole Chukoskie enjoyed first place in the 3000 meters (8:34.71). Senior Justin Brown claimed third in the 3000 meters, finishing in 8:40.68.

The team of senior Zachary Barban, Caba, Conca and junior Dexter DeMarco reeled in first place in the 4x400-meter relay with a final time of 3:26.15.

Running for the women, sophomore Iyun Franklin-Ayeni tied for No. 10 all-time in the 60-meter hurdles, running a time of 9.17. Junior Gabby Buber collected third in the 60 meters with a time of 8.02. Senior Elena Malone achieved second in the 500 meters (1:17.58) while classmate Alexa LaSasso placed second in the 800 meters (2:16.75).

Freshmen Katelynn Barhold and Faye Carnemolla each reeled in third in the 800 meters (2:17.97) and 1000 meters (3:02.40), respectively. Senior Elizabeth Borah ran a 5:06.78 mile, finishing third, while sophomore Anya Kazemi took home third in the 3000 meters (10:18.25).

In the field, freshman Kennedy Miller captured the victory in the weight throw, throwing 48' 6". Miller also secured second in the shot put (41' 7.5"). Senior Zoe Krumwiede snagged second in the weight throw (45' 10.75") and freshman Ava Reese earned third in both the shot put (40' 0.25") and the weight throw (45' 5.25").

Freshman Sophia Agner jumped 5' 1.5" for third in the high jump and sophomore Leah Rudolph leaped 16' 11.25" for third in the long jump. Sophomore Anaya Brown finished third in the triple jump (34' 7.25"). Sophomore Bridget O'Mara took home third in the pole vault, vaulting 11' 3.75".

The Maroon and White will head to the Scarlet Knights Open and the Fast Track Invite on Feb. 6 at 9:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.
