EASTON, Pa. - It hasn't taken junior forward B.J. Glenn long to get back into the swing of things. After missing Lafayette's first three games of the season due to injury, Glenn has now scored twice in his two games back on the field and Sunday's goal against Binghamton proved to be the game winner in a 1-0 victory on the final day of the Lafayette Puma Classic.

The Leopards improve to 4-0-1 this season and have now shut out four opponents this fall, including their last three. In addition, the Lafayette defense has allowed only one goal.

Lafayette goalie Philip Nelson picked up his fourth shutout after making two saves against Binghamton. The Leopards' offense, meanwhile, fired off 11 shots against the Bearcats (2-2-0), including four from Glenn. Sophomore Wayne Maminski finished with three and Binghamton goalie Jason Stenta was forced to make four saves on the afternoon.

The action was limited in a scoreless first half. Nelson made a great save on a solid shot from Andy Tiedt with 26 minutes remaining in the first half and Binghamton goalie Jason Stenta made a similar save on a shot from Blake Fink less than four minutes later.

Fink had another shot to attempt to break the tie with less than nine minutes to play in the opening half, but this time his shot went wide of goal and it remained scoreless at halftime.

Ten minutes into the second half, Maminski nearly made it a 1-0 game but his header knocked off the post. Glenn was right there, however, to collect the rebound and direct it into the goal, finally making it 1-0 in favor of the Leopards.

With less than 10 minutes on the clock, Maminski again came within inches scoring but his shot somehow missed finding the lower right corner of the goal and it remained 1-0 in favor of the Leopards.

With 50 seconds remaining, Binghamton had one final scoring chance with a corner kick but the Bearcats could do nothing with the opportunity.

Lafayette is back in action on Friday when the team travels to Chicago to take part in the Northwestern Tournament. The Leopards face Northern Illinois on Friday and Northwestern on Sunday.
