Another Smedley Shutout

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Lafayette women's soccer team earned a hard-fought scoreless draw with Wagner on Sunday afternoon in Staten Island, N.Y. Lauren Smedley extended her shutout streak to three games.

The freshman goalkeeper has now held opponents scoreless from the last 323 minutes of competition following today's 110 minutes of action.

Smedley recorded nine saves on the afternoon to preserve the shutout.

The Leopards managed four corner kicks in the second half, while the Seahawks only tallied one throughout the contest.

Wagner held a 15-8 advantage in shots, while freshman Jill Dozier paced Lafayette with three shots, including two on goal.

Lafayette will take the week to prepare for the season-opener of Patriot League play next Saturday afternoon at Mike Bourger '44 Field at Oaks Stadium. The Leopards will host Holy Cross beginning at 1 p.m.
