The Lafayette men's basketball team placed six student-athletes on the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Team co-captain Michael Gruner has been named to the honor all four years and led the way with a 4.00 grade-point average (GPA) this spring.
The Economics and Business major was recognized along with Rob Delaney and Alex Orchowski, both Government and Law majors, who were named for the second time with a 3.82 and 3.32 respectively.
Jim Mower a Government and Law major, ended with a 3.50, Deirunas Visockas, an Economics and Business major, posted a 3.32 while Ryan Willen, a Neuroscience major, rounded out the group with a 3.42 GPA.
Gruner, a Marquis Scholar, completed his senior year averaging 7.0 points, 2.7 rebounds 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Mower finished third in the country in three-point percentage (46.5) and averaged 13.8 points per game.
The Leopards finished their season under Patriot League Coach of the Year Fran O'Hanlon with an overall record of 19-13 and 8-6 in conference play. The Leopards made a historic run to the Patriot League Championship for the first time in ten years as they took down Colgate and Holy Cross in the first two rounds, respectively.
