EASTON, Pa. - GoLeopards.com sat down with men's basketball forward Darion Benbow to start off the 2010-11 school year. The senior talks about what he did over the summer and his most embarrassing moment as a Leopard

What did you do over the summer? Did you take any classes, working out for basketball? This summer was relatively uneventful for me. I worked out for basketball, hung out with friends and slept a lot.

What's your major and what do you like about your major? I'm a neuroscience major. I like it because I've always been a "science" guy and a people-person. By studying neuroscience I get to learn the science behind people (human behaviors and interactions) at the most fundamental level. I couldn't ask for any more in a major.

What's been the most unique out-of-classroom experience or project you've been a part of in your two years at Lafayette? Without a doubt, I would have to say the Patriot League men's basketball championship game last year. We fell just short of our goal of winning the championship, but that was an unforgettable experience to say the least. Hopefully I'll have an even better experience to talk about after this season.

What is your earliest basketball memory? My first championship game when I was six years old. Somehow I got confused as to which basket was mine after stealing the ball from the other team and I accidentally shot in to the other team's basket! Luckily we still won that game.

What can you take from your sport and incorporate into everyday life? Playing basketball has taught me so many life skills that I don't know where I'd be without it. From teamwork and communication skills, to effort and persistence, I've incorporated countless lessons and skills from the court in to my everyday life.

What do you still wish to accomplish (on or off the court)? A Patriot League championship

My pregame ritual is: Spend time in the training room getting treated for a miscellaneous injury.

Most embarrassing thing that's happened to me on the court is: One time I got so anxious for a fast break dunk that I forgot to catch the ball before I started running towards the basket and I was called for a walk. It is still debatable if you ask me.

Sport you would play other than your own: Soccer

Who does the best impression of your coach? Wheels (Ben Wheeler)

Most famous person I've ever met: Michael Jordan after my Jordan Classic game at MSG.

Food you can't live without: Chicken

Favorite TV show as a kid: Rugrats

Pool or beach: Beach

Best part of summer: The beginning
