EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette men's basketball team begins its 21st season of Patriot League basketball on Saturday at Holy Cross (1-13) in a 3:30 p.m. tip. The last time the two teams met was in the Patriot League Tournament Semifinals on March 7, 2010 when the Leopards beat Holy Cross 66-63.

The Patriot League matchup will be available on LSN All-Access through GoLeopards.com and on WJRH 104.9 with Dick Hammer recounting the action.
Ryan Willen led the way for the Leopards with 15 points, but the Leopards couldn't seem to slow Noruwa Agho who scored 17 of the Lions' final 18 points over an eight-minute span to close the game. Agho finished with a game-high 23. Senior Darion Benbow finished a rebound shy a first double-double, contributing 10 points, while Jared Mintz and Jim Mower both added 13 points.
Holy Cross enters the Patriot League portion of the season with a 1-13 record, 0-5 at home. The record is certainly a little deceiving as the Crusaders have lost their last three games by a total of four points, falling 58-57 at George Washington, 77-75 at Sacred Heart and 77-76 to Yale in overtime on Wednesday. In all, five of Holy Cross' 13 losses have come by three points or fewer. The Crusaders' lone victory came at Marist on Dec. 19, 75-57.
Holy Cross features a strong backcourt led in scoring by junior Devin Brown who is averaging 13.2 ppg. Brown exploded for 33 points against Yale, hitting four three's while converting 10-of-11 shots at the line. Senior guard Andrew Beinert has started all 14 games and is averaging 7.2 points and 3.5 assists per game.
Junior guard Mike Cavataio is contributing 7.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in his second season at Holy Cross after transferring from St. John's. Up front, senior center Andrew Keister leads the team and the Patriot League with 7.8 rebounds per game while also adding 11.0 ppg.
The Leopards host consecutive conference contests, welcoming Colgate on Wednesday and Navy on Jan 15.
