Princeton Invitational Results 
PRINCETON, N.J. -The Lafayette track and field team participated in the Princeton New Year's Invitational held at Princeton's Jadwin Gymnasium on Saturday. A number of Lafayette athletes had strong performances in the Indoor season opener, including an IC4A qualifier and two ECAC Championship qualifiers.
Highlighting the meet for Lafayette was senior Jerome Rudolph as he took second in the 60m dash. Rudolph crossed the line in 6.98, good enough to qualify him for the IC4A Championships, and also was a personal best. He also participated in the long jump for the first time in his career, placing seventh overall.
In the 20lb weight throw, Rachel Pena and Gwen Steckel took second and third, respectively. The duo each posted personal best throws and were ECAC qualifiers for their efforts. Pena's top throw measured 16.73m and Steckel's toss went 16.58m. In the shot put, Pena also recorded a personal record, earning second with a 12.71m launch.
Closing out the women's field events, Joelle Neilson's triple jump performance of 11.75m (38' 6 3/4'') earned her a sixth place mark, breaking the indoor school record by two inches. In the pole vault, Elise Buffinton took fifth with a score of 3.35m.
Kelly Senters clocked in at 1:39.15 in the 600m run, finishing in eighth place.
On the men's side Nick DeRosa and Nick Hepp took consecutive places in the 300m dash DeRosa, came in third at 35.72 while Hepp closed the event with a time of 35.76.
In the 1000m run, Derrick Hargwood and Chris Parker also finished in third and fourth, clocking in at 2:35.55 and 2:35.60, respectively.
Nick Henderson earned fifth in the pole vault, scoring 4.65m.
The team breaks for the holidays before returning to the track on Jan. 14 when it travels New York, N.Y. for the Armory Saturday Night Races.
