EASTON, Pa. - Coming off a pair of heart-rending losses, the Leopards (10-17, 5-7) look to get back on track when they host Army. Lafayette won the first meeting, 83-60, on Jan. 26. The Black Knights (11-16, 3-9) have lost their last five.

Lafayette rests at 5-7 in the Patriot League standings in a three-way tie for fourth place with Holy Cross and Navy. The Leopards trail Bucknell (11-1), American (9-3) and Lehigh (6-6) and are a game ahead of Colgate and two games up on Army. Only the top four teams host a Patriot League quarterfinal.

When Lafayette played at West Point on Jan. 26, things didn't look good in the early going of an eventual 23-point win. Six minutes and 40 seconds into the game, the Leopards trailed 15-2. Lafayette used an 18-4 spurt to get in the game and an 11-0 run to lead by six at halftime. The Leopards broke open the game in the second half, opening with a 27-12 run. Six players scored in that span.

Lafayette senior forward Jared Mintz is looking to add his name to a list of elite players who have scored 1,000 or more points and pulled down 500 or more rebounds. Mintz currently has 1,166 career points and 481 career rebounds, needing 19 more rebounds to become the 14th player in Lafayette basketball history to accomplish the feat. Brian Ehlers '00 was the last player to reach the 1,000-point, 500-rebound plateau, doing so in his senior season of 1999-00.

Army enters Wednesday's game at 11-16 overall and 3-9 in Patriot League play. The Black Knights are in eighth place in the conference standings. Currently with the only win over first-place Bucknell (90-70 on Jan. 29), Army possesses a crucial tiebreaker when it comes to Patriot League Tournament seeding if a tie were to go beyond head-to-head comparison. Army's other league wins have come on the road at Lehigh (75-72) and Colgate (73-66) in the first run through Patriot League play.

Junior guard Julian Simmons is one of three Army players averaging double figures (13.7 ppg). Simmons has a team-best 68 three-pointers and is one of five players with 25 or more three's. As a team, Army is shooting 38 percent (245-of-654) from the perimeter, already setting a team record for three-point makes in a season. Senior forward Jeremy Hence is the team's leading scorer (15.4 ppg) and is second in rebounding (5.2 rpg). Sophomore forward Ella Ellis averages 14.4 points and a team-best 5.3 rebounds per game while starting each game this season.
