KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Leopards continued their play in the Rebel Spring Games, losing 12-2 to Temple and 5-1 to Detroit on Saturday morning.
Against Temple, the Owls pulled away early with a five-run second inning spurred by a pair of doubles and five hits in total.
Stacey Kushner's two-run home run highlighted the Leopards' offensive effort. Gwen Turner, Jordan Parsons and Garganio also added singles.
Lauren Hasson took the loss on the rubber while Christine Hilcken pitched two innings in relief of the freshman. For Temple, Kristen Marris got the mound win.
In the second game, Lafayette trailed 2-1 through the sixth inning before Detroit scored three runs in the sixth en route to a 5-1 decision.
The Leopards had the early lead. Turner singled and moved to second on a sacrifice by Jordan Parsons. Kushner plated her with a single to lead 1-0. In the game, the Leopards managed eight hits, but pushed across just one run. Kerry Griffin went 2-for-3.
Detroit's Erin Huddleston smacked a three-run home run in the sixth inning to give the Titans a 5-1 lead.
Emily Noel took the loss, going six innings while giving up three hits and four walks (including three in the sixth inning).
Lafayette plays two more games on Sunday, vs. Siena at 11 a.m. and Columbia at 1 p.m.
