ANNAPOLIS, Md. -
With a 4-3 win in game one of today's doubleheader, the Lafayette baseball team has clinched a spot in the upcoming Patriot League Tournament.
The Leopards move to 10-9 in Patriot League play, and league representatives have confirmed that Lafayette owns all of the potential tiebreakers necessary to solidify a postseason berth.
Wins by Lafayette and Bucknell this afternoon officially eliminated both Holy Cross and Lehigh.
With a win in game two, the Leopards will host a semifinal series on May 14-15. Lafayette would win the regular season championship and No. 1 seed for the tournament with a win and a Bucknell win. Should Lafayette fall to the Midshipmen later today, the Leopards will travel to either Army or Navy for its seminal matchup.
Game two between the Leopards and Midshipmen will begin at approximately 2:30 p.m. A full recap of the twinbill and the final playoff picture will be available on GoLeopards.com later today.
