EASTON, Pa. - The Lafayette track and field team wrapped up the Patriot League Championships at Metzgar Fields on Saturday evening.
The Leopard women, who finished fourth with 64 points, were led by Joelle Nielson's first-place performance in the women's triple jump. The Patriot League Champion had a jump of 39'2.5". Kerriann Borke finished in second with a jump of 38'6.25".
On the men's side, junior Nick DeRosa took the top spot in the 200m dash leading the men's team to a fifth-place finish with 49 points. The men's 4x100m team of David Robinson, DeRosa, Nick Hepp and Jerome Rudolph were the Patriot League Champions and set a league record of 40.63.
In the women's 100m and 200m dash, senior Kelly Clyde finished in third (12.46) and fifth (25.22) place, respectively. Sophomore Chelsea Marone finished with a time of 1:03.86 in the 400m hurdles good enough for second place.
Broke, also finished in sixth place in the 100m hurdles clocking in at 15.02, while freshman Rose Willey finished in fifth-place in the women's steeplechase with a time of 11:04.95.
In the men's 100m dash, Rudolph finished in third with an IC4A qualifying time of 10.72 and Hepp placed fifth in the 400m dash with a time of 49.41.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Ryan McVeigh, DeRosa, Hepp and Bill Leonard finished in second place with an IC4A time of 3:17.13.
The men's team from Bucknell was named Patriot League Champions for the second year while the Bison women's picked up their third consecutive Patriot League Championship award.
