Game Notes

The Leopards open the 2013-14 campaign at home against the Rider Broncs. Lafayette and Rider have played in each of the past two seasons with the Broncs squeaking out narrow victories in both contests. The Leopards hold a 20-10 advantage in the all-time series.

Last time Out
The Leopards fell in the Patriot League Quarterfinals to number two seeded Navy in overtime. Lafayette took the eventual League champs to the brink and had a shot to win the game in the waning seconds, but a three-point shot from the corner by Maddie Peabody came up a little short. The game was played tight throughout, with the score tied at 29 at halftime and again at 48 at the end of regulation. Danielle Fiacco finished with a double-double, 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Emily Homan had a team-high 12 points. Jamie O'Hare knocked down three triples and finished with 11 points in the loss.

Scouting the Broncs
Rider will be led by senior guard/forward MyNeshia McKenzie, who was a First Team All-MAAC selection last season and needs five points to reach 1,000 in her career. McKenzie averaged 14.2 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. Emily Fazzini returns for her junior campaign after starting 20 games a season ago and averaging 6.4 points and 2.5 boards per game. Sophomore Mikal Johnson, a MAAC All-Rookie Team selection last season, knocked down a team-high 37 three-pointers.

2012-13 Season Review
The Leopards finished the 2012-13 campaign, 11-19 overall, 4-10 in Patriot League play. Lafayette returns all five starters from last season's team. The Maroon and White came up just short of upsetting No. 2 seeded and eventual League Champion, Navy, 59-55 in overtime in the Patriot League Quarterfinals. The Leopards upset Pittsburgh in Easton, 68-65, and also had a three-game league winning streak with victories over Lehigh, Colgate and then league-leading American.
