Boston, Mass. - Kelly Loughney's career afternoon and Emily Homan's 20 points powered the Leopards in a come from behind victory on Saturday. Lafayette erased an eight point halftime deficit and came away with a 68-64 victory. Loughney scored a career best 20 points and grabbed a career-high 13 rebounds to finish with her first double-double of the season.

The Leopards improved to 1-3 in Patriot League play and 7-8 overall, while Boston University dropped to 1-3 in the league.

BU opened an early 13-6 lead, connecting on a three triples in the opening seven minutes. The Terriers continued to knock down shots from distance and pushed their lead to 12, 20-8, midway through the opening frame.

Maddie Peabody stopped the Boston run with a driving layup at the 10 minute mark. Homan knocked down a baby hook from the post on the Leopards next possession. Loughney pushed the Lafayette spurt to seven, cutting the lead to five, 20-15, with eight minutes to play.

After a BU basket, Loughney hit a jumper from the baseline and drew the foul. She completed the three-point play to make it a four-point game, 22-18, with 7:25 left in the first half. Back-to-back field goals from Homan trimmed the lead to one, 25-24, with five minutes to go in the half.

Homan knocked down a pair from the free throw line to give the Leopards their first lead of the afternoon with four and a half minutes left in the opening frame. The Terriers closed the half on a 12-3 run and led 36-28 at the break. BU used seven triples to build an eight-point lead at the half.

Lafayette started the scoring in the second half with Homan taking a nice feed from Jamie O'Hare. After a steal, Peabody converted on the fast break, to cut the lead to four, 36-32. A 6-2 spurt from the Terriers pushed their lead back up to eight, 42-34.

Back-to-back baskets from Madeline Fahan trimmed the lead down to four, 42-38, at the under 16 media timeout. Out of the break, Brya Freeland drove to the hoop and was fouled. She sank the free throws and the Leopards were back within a basket, 42-40.

Clodagh Scannell knocked down her fourth three of the afternoon to push the lead to five, but O'Hare answered at the other end with a triple of her own to cut the lead to two, 45-43, with 14:04 on the clock.

Danielle Fiacco tied the game at 45, with 13 minutes to play. Loughney drew an offensive foul on the Terriers next possession, and the Leopards took their first lead of the afternoon when Peabody found Loughney under the basket for two.

Homan found Peabody cutting to the bucket to give the Leopards a 50-49 advantage with under nine minutes to play. A three-point play from BU's Danielle Callahan gave the Terriers a two-point edge. Homan again answered for the Leopards on their next possession. BU took a two-point lead, 54-52, into the under eight media timeout.

Loughney tied it up at 54 with six minutes to play on a jumper from the elbow. The senior gave the Leopards the lead again, knocking down a pair from the free throw line. Homan extended the lead to four on a turnaround jump shot. Loughney buried two more from the charity stripe to push the Leopards advantage to six, 60-54 with four to play.

Callahan cut the Lafayette lead in half with a three, but Loughney answered with a baseline jumper at the other end. Callahan knocked down 1-of-2 from the line to trim the Leopards lead to two, 62-60. O'Hare lobbed a pass over the top to Loughney for her career-high 20 point. A triple from BU's Sarah Hope cut the Lafayette advantage to one, 64-63, with under 30 seconds to play. Fahan and O'Hare knocked down two free throws apiece in the final minute to seal the 68-63 victory.

Lafayette returns to Kirby Sports Center for a pair of games next week. The Leopards host Loyola on Wednesday night and American on Saturday afternoon.
