BOSTON, Mass. - A Terrier tally in the 80^th minute closed the door on a comeback for the Lafayette men's soccer team on Saturday afternoon as the Leopards fell to Boston U. by a 3-1 score.

The Terriers opened the scoring in the 25^th minute as Boston's Richie Robinson finished a ball inside the left post from about eight yards out to grab an early 1-0 lead off a feed from Jordan Barker.

That 1-0 score would hold through the halftime break before Barker would connect for a goal of his own in the 49^th minute to put the Terriers up, 2-0. Barker bent a free kick inside the right post past Lafayette senior goalkeeper Sandy Leavy for the second goal of the game.

Less than nine minutes later, junior Eric West came out victorius after a mad scramble in front to light up the Lafayette side of the scoreboard. West, working hard amongst a bevy of players from both sides, finished a header, flicked on by sophomore Ryan Egan, to the left of Boston goalkeeper Nick Thompson in the 57^th minute to cut the lead to one at 2-1.

Unfortunately, Boston's David Amirani crushed the comeback hopes in the 80^th minute as he teamed up with Barker and Dominique Badji to beat sophomore goalkeeper Brad Seeber, who relieved Leavy in the 57^th minute. That goal, the Terriers' third of the game, proved to be the final score of the contest as Boston U. walked away with a 3-1 victory.

With the loss, the Leopards fall to 5-7-2 on the year and 1-4-0 in Patriot League action, while Boston U. moves to 10-2-1 overall and 5-0-0 in conference play. The Maroon and White led the way in shots, 14-12, but the Terriers worked four corner kicks compared to just three for the visitors.

It doesn't get much easier for Lafayette as next up is a return home for a meeting with an American team who is currently receiving votes in the NSCAA Coaches' Poll and knocked off No. 1 UCLA earlier this season. Kick off for Saturday's matchup is set for 12 p.m.
