WEST POINT, N.Y. - An Army goal in the 31st minute was the only tally in the game, proving to be enough to outlast the Lafayette men's soccer team on Saturday evening in West Point, N.Y., 1-0.
The game was a fairly even contest as both teams tallied 12 shots and three corner-kick opportunities. In the 31st minute, Army's lone goal was the difference.
The Knights' Justin Kim served in a set piece from the right side of the Lafayette defensive box, looking for Christian Clark on the far post. Clark obliged, sending a header into the left side of the goal past Lafayette freshman goalkeeper Brad Seeber for the gamewinner.
Seeber allowed the one goal with no saves in 90 minutes of action, while Army's Winston Boldt recorded five saves on the night for the clean sheet. Junior Eric West led the offense for Lafayette with three shots and one on goal, while Army's Mario DaSilva and Sean Mogan each tallied three shots apiece.
The Maroon and White will finish up their 2014 campaign on Saturday, hosting Loyola for senior night at 7 p.m.
