STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Lafayette opened up an 8-4 halftime advantage and never looked back as the Leopards cruised to the 16-6 victory over Wagner College on Saturday afternoon in Staten Island, N.Y.

Senior Ana White and freshman Amanda Case led the Lafayette (1-2) offense combining for nine goals in the win. White had five tallies and one assist, while Case found the back of the net four times. Senior Laura Kleiber and sophomore Kristen Mignon both had two goals, and fellow sophomore Charlotte Avallone, and freshmen Kirsten Wilhelmsen and Alexis Thompson each had one tally in the victory.

Shea Gegan and Kimmy Tumolo had two goals apiece to pace the Seahawks (1-1) attack. It was all Leopards in the 10-goal victory as the Maroon & White held the advantage against Wagner in shots, 26-13, groundballs, 14-11, draw controls, 16-8, and caused turnovers, 16-11.

Senior Meghan Curtin picked up her first win of the season between the pipes as she allowed six goals and made four saves.

The Seahawks got on the board first with a quick goal from Gegan. But Lafayette responded, as White tallied back-to-back goals and Avallone found the back of the cage to put Lafayette up 3-1. After a Wagner goal, the Leopards converted on three straight free position shots from Thompson, Kleiber, and White to push the lead to 6-2. The Maroon & White's lead eventually grew to 8-4 before the break.

After halftime, Gretchen Fay scored for Wagner to make it 8-5 with 26:50 left to play. However, Lafayette rattled off eight straight tallies with Case scoring three times while White and Mignon both tallied two goals each to make it 16-5 en route to the 16-6 win.

The Leopards are back in action Wednesday afternoon as they travel to West Long Branch, N.J. to take on Monmouth with the opening draw scheduled for 3 p.m.
