Easton, Pa. - The Lafayette women's lacrosse team fell to visiting Bryant 18-12 on Wednesday night. The Leopards were led offensively by Ana White, who finished the game with four goals and two assists. Lafayette moved to 3-4 overall and Bryant improved to 5-2.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 2-0 lead before Kirsten Wilhelmsen tallied for Lafayette at the 22:52 mark. After a Bryant goal, Charlotte Avallone countered for the Leopards to cut the lead to 3-2. The Bulldogs would score the next five goals, powered by three tallies from Lauren Descalzo, to build an 8-2 advantage.

The Leopards scored four of the next seven to cut the lead to five, 11-6 at the break. Laura Kleiber scored the first two for Lafayette, followed by a pair from White. Kleiber and Avallone picked up the assists on the final Lafayette goals of the half.

Bryant took a commanding 14-6 lead with three straight goals to open the second half. A free position goal from Amanda Case started the scoring for the Leopards in the second half. After a Bryant goal, White found Avallone in front to cut the deficit to seven, 15-8, with 23:24 to play.

Trailing 17-8, the Leopards rattled off four the next five goals to cut the lead to six. Kleiber netted her team leading 19th goal of the season to start the run. White and Avallone scored at 4:53 and 4:17 to make it an 18-11 game. White's 16th goal of the season to pull within six, 18-12, was as close as Lafayette would get, as Bryant held on for an 18-12 victory.

Meghan Curtin made 10 saves for the Leopards in the loss, as she moved to 3-4 on the season. Bryant's Brianna Watt improved to 5-2, making five saves for the Bulldogs.

Lafayette returns to action on Saturday when the Leopards host Patriot League newcomer, Loyola. Opening draw from Fisher Stadium is set for noon.
