EASTON, Pa. - The Friends of Lafayette Baseball have announced the guest speaker for the Fifth Annual Preseason Kickoff Dinner as highly accomplished former Major League Baseball player Ben Davis.
Davis' achievements include being named the 1995 USA Today Player of the Year. He was the No. 2 Overall Pick in the 1995 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres. Davis played for seven years in the major leagues with the Padres, Seattle Mariners and Chicago White Sox.
Currently, he is a pregame and postgame commenter at Citizen's Bank Park for Comcast SportsNet's Phillies coverage. Davis is also heard on Mondays talking baseball with Angelo Cataldi, Al Morganti and Rhea Hughes on WIP, 94.1 FM.
