LEWISBURG, Pa. - Bucknell used a strong second half, outscoring the Leopards, 29-16 during the period to take down Lafayette 51-37 in Patriot League action on Wednesday night. The Bison improved to 6-5 in League play, while the Leopards moved to 4-7.

Emily Homan led the Leopards with 12 points and eight rebounds, while Harriet Ottewill-Soulsby scored a career-high 10 points in the loss. Bucknell held a 51-27 advantage on the boards, including 21 offensive rebounds in the contest. Audrey Dotson scored a game-high 17 points for the Bison.

Bucknell pushed out to an early 9-2 advantage with 14 minutes to play in the opening half. The Leopards trimmed the lead to three, but a five-point spurt from the Bison increased the deficit to eight midway through the half.

A bucket from Ottewill-Soulsby, followed by a three from Maddie Peabody made it a three-point game with six minutes to go in the opening period. Homan's hook shot pulled the Leopards within a point late in the first half, and the Bison held a one-point cushion at the break.

Audrey Dotson scored Bucknell's first five points of the second half to extend the Bison lead to four. Jamie O'Hare scored on the fast break, but the teams continued to exchange buckets as Bucknell maintained its four-point advantage with 15 minutes to play.

A 10-2 run from Bucknell over the next six minutes extended the margin to 10, 39-29 with 8:08 on the clock. The Bison used another 8-2 spurt to take a 47-31 lead with 5:54 to play.

Peabody's floater with 3:57 to play cut the spread to 47-33, but Bucknell maintained its advantage and held on to take down the Leopards, 51-37.

Lafayette travels to Boston University on Saturday afternoon.
