Hinrichs Grabs Second Academic All-District Nod

February 5, 2015

EASTON, Pa. - Senior Seth Hinrichs of the Lafayette men's basketball team earned his second straight nod to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District II Team, it was announced Thursday.

To be eligible for Academic All-America consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director. As a First-Team Academic All-District honoree, Hinrichs advances to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.

Hinrichs, a senior Economics major from Clara City, Minn., holds a 3.40 cumulative GPA in his final semester on College Hill. A 2013-14, Academic All-District choice, Hinrichs is second on the team in scoring and rebounding this season for the Leopards with 13.5 points and 6.0 boards per contest.

Hinrichs currently sits 12th on Lafayette's all-time scoring list with 1,393 career points and is serving as team captain for the second straight season. Additionally, he has his name stamped all over the Lafayette record books, sitting in the top-10 all-time in career three-point field goals (194), career three-point shooting percentage (43.7%) and career free-throw shooting percentage (81.7%).

Lafayette and Hinrichs are back in action on the hardwood on Monday evening, hosting Boston U. at 7 p.m. That game can be seen live on CBS Sports Network.
