Opening Tip

- Lafayette is hosting its first Patriot League championship game since the 1999-2000 season. The winner of Wednesday's contest will earn an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Lafayette has never lost at Kirby Sports Center in Patriot League Tournament, going 9-0 in Easton all-time.

- American is the only Patriot League team that Lafayette failed to defeat during the regular season as the Eagles swept the season series. Pee Wee Gardner's buzzer-beating floater on Jan. 17 sunk the Leopards in Easton, 78-76, and American took care of business at home with an 88-77 win on Feb. 14.

- Lafayette ranks in the top-15 nationally in all three offensive efficiency categories, including holding the second spot in the country in three-point field-goal percentage (41.0%). Additionally, the Leopards are ninth in free-throw percentage (76.5%) and 13th in overall field-goal percentage (48.4%).

- Sophomore Nick Lindner has stepped up his offensive game recently, putting together a pair of 23-point performances in two tournament victories, dropping in a career-high five three-pointers against Boston U. Since an illness kept him out of the BU game on Feb. 9, he has averaged 18.1 points per game, a 7.9-point increase in scoring above his 10.2 average before that date.
